Breakfast with Siria and Amado & Downtown Adventures

The other day we went out to breakfast with some dear friends of ours.
We go all the way back to the late 1900s. LOL.

Amado, Siria, and their family were a part of Elder Wakefield's church during our first years in Mexico.

We had a good time visiting and reminiscing about past years... I even got to hear stories about myself that I had never heard, nor remember! Turns out I used to be a little brat!
Who'da thunk it?

After breakfast Beth and I went downtown to run a few errands.

Look at the line at this little place! It wraps around the whole kiosk. Must be good food right?

WRONG :))
Okay, so I cannot knock what I have not tried... These must taste good to have such a long line... But just imagine all the grease in these things. First the hot dog is dipped in a bread batter, deep-fried, then wrapped in bacon and fried again!!! Heart attack on a stick!

We went the not so greasy route and ordered some fries which were delicious!

You'd think that the hot dog wrapped in bacon would be enough, but nope... After buying your hot dog or fries, the next step is this bar where they have every sauce imaginable to put on top of your food. They even have gravy. Gravy! Like mashed potato gravy. Who puts gravy on their hot dog??

We delicately drizzled ours with ketchup and cheese.

After our snack, one of the first places we went to was a baking supply shop. I picked out what I needed and paid for it all. A common way of doing business here in Mexico is to pick out your merchandise, they take behind a counter, you walk to a different part of the store to pay for it, then you go to the packaging area to present your receipt and take away your purchases.
I did steps 1 - 3 and left without picking up my supplies!!
We then traipsed around downtown for quite a few hours buying things, eating, and hanging out. When it came time to head home, I realized that I didn't have my baking bag. We walked all the way back to the store, and thankfully they were honest and kind people who didn't even bat an eyelash when I walked in to pick up my things hours later.
Bethany took this picture from afar.
She was too embarassed to go into the store with her ditsy sister. I was pretty ashamed too.
