Church in Uriangato

**Replace all references to "yesterday" to "Sunday"! I've been trying to post this since yesterday!!! :)

Yesterday we had two services, both of them were very good! I played and Nicole sang, then El Pastor preached. I really like the church here. The people are very friendly and seem so hungry.

This is the church

 Bro. Jose singing a special

When Dad asked anyone to come up that was sick, 3/4 of the church came to the front. :-/

My dad had lost his sunglasses here in Uriangato a while back when helping the pastor of this church move down here. Dad saw this little old lady with a pair of glasses on that looked strangely familiar so he told her the story of losing his. She informed him that these were given to her by a brother in the church here in Uriangato. Ha! Now we know where dad's glasses went :P

This young man was filled with the Holy Ghost a couple weeks ago and was baptized. That is his wife next to him. Yesterday was her first service.

Praying for people wanting the Holy Ghost

If anything in these posts is a little ski-wampas, it is because I'm blogging off my phone! :)

We arrived here in Uriangato, Guanajuato earlier today. We will be here for the next week taking care of a church while their pastor is gone. This is a cute town! Very different from Puebla. There are tons of motorcycles, tons of kids and young people. The sun is going down right now and people are all out on their porches chatting with their neighbors while watching their kids play. We never see this in the city! We have also noticed that the people look a lot different than the people of Puebla. They look almost American, so this means we fit right in! No weird stares :P

This is a view of the town from on top a hill a few blocks from where we are staying...

I'm at a coffee shop a few blocks from the church. I will try to blog again when I get Internet! We have two services tomorrow, pray that we can be a blessing to these people.

Pacific Coast Camp & My Trip Home!

Sadly, we broke tradition with PCC this year... Bethany and I have been going to Pacific Coast Camp since 2010, but this year Beth stayed in Mexico, and I was only able to go to camp for one night service. I went on Wednesday night to hear Bro. Alvear preach, and was able to see and talk with all of my PCC pals :)) We had a good time, but it was a quick visit after church ended. It could have been longer, but my feet were killing me... I also got to meet a few readers of the blog! I love it when people come up to us and let us know that they are keeping up with us and what is going on down here!

Loved seeing everyone!

L-R (clockwise) Cherie, me.... and an amazing PCC churro <3>

Cherie, Stephanie, Angelo, Beth, and me.
Yes, Bethany is in there! Look at the cellphone in my hand! Hahaha :))
She wanted to be there so bad to see everyone, so I had her on camera having everyone say hi to her! Soo funny.

This picture right here is a rare as it gets!
Angelo Alvear smiling, instead of making a crazy face!!

Steph, Angelo, yours truly, Michael, and Andrew
It was so sad... This picture and the picture before last were the only pics I got of the old PCC gang :( Some of them weren't at camp, and some were in the dorms. (Which I didn't know at the time. Bummer!) So I missed out on seeing them.

In the car, headed out to find something to eat!

Denny's-- My last meal in the U.S.!
Had a blast laughing at all the crazies (all sitting at our own table of course LOL), got home around 2am, packed up my things, forgot a few things, and just 2 hours later it was off to the airport for a very early AM flight! I was not ready to go back... In fact, I'm still having withdrawals hahaha.

Sleepy ride to the airport, got to the airport around 5am, dragged myself through customs, made it to my gate..... and lo and behold, it was my lucky day.............
What do I discover but that my gate is under construction! :)))

With no seating available, I decided that I would look for greener pastures. I moved down the terminal and found what I was looking for... And after waiting behind 20-some people (literally- it was crazy), I had my nice hot cup of coffee to keep me going. :))

Made it to Dallas and wandered around there for 5 hours...
Of course, I had to stop in to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a treat for Beth!
It smells so good in this place!

Filled in paperwork...

So dreamy...

And finally, after more than 15 hours of travel, I landed in my little Puebla!

Nicole's Trip P.2

Okay! Nicole is back!
Thanks to an anonymous commenter demanding that we entertain them, I am here to comply! :)))
On to the second part of my trip... Here's some more random pictures from the second week- L.A. Zoo, made pizzas, birthday parties, and another graduation!
Spent another day having fun with Max!

Horseback riding- Look at that cute smile!

...Late night stop at Joe Peeps to make pizzas! Yes, we made our own pizzas! So so fun...
^Best pizza in L.A.! ....no I'm not being paid to say that :D ^

Hanging out!

The teacher and his 2 students hahaha.

Then things got a little crazy when someone threw a packed snowball of flour at me! I had flour in my hair, my eyes, nose, everywhere.
I still am not totally sure who did it, but if I do find out for sure, that person better watch out!

Congrats to the lovely graduate Rachel!

Vivian, Vern, and Britt at the graduation dinner.

I could not pass up the opportunity to share this with you all! I took this picture on the last morning that Max was with us...
Here he is, eating the breakfast of champions.....
Doritos and milk! LOL.
^Oh my, just look at those baby blues!^

Beach day!
This is what I had been looking forward to my whole trip-- a whole day, relaxing on the beach...

Fun in the sun with friends and snacks... Lots of snacks.
After being lost and stranded the day before in the L.A. Zoo, where an icee costs 9 bucks, and with out any snacks, Britt and I decided that we would be very well prepared for this day at the beach! :)))

It really was a beautiful day!

And then to finish the day off, we ate at The Habit... I think that out of all of the meals I ate in the U.S., I enjoyed this one the most... So good.

Had some car problems as we tried to pull out of the parking lot... High centered on the curb, to be exact.
No, I wasn't driving. LOL.

Another highlight of the trip-- Disneyland!
We had a pretty big group, of a little over 20 people, from the church show up this day.
A group of them are in the pic below... You guys can play Where's Waldo hahaa.

L-R Jasmine, Josh, Crystal, Gary, Marvin
There was no chance of us getting lost thanks to Josh... :)))

Rachel... Wonder why she looks so happy...? ;P

More of the group!

Pirates of the Caribbean!

So neat how everything looked so realistic!

Another early start of a day in Old Town Pasadena... Guess where we went for breakfast?

Where else but at the world famous (Nicole's world, of course) Mi Piace!

50/50 orange smoothie and orange cranberry muffins!

And to top the day off, we went job hunting for Britt... We passed a cute little bookshop that looked really classy... While I was shopping a few doors away, Britt decided to stop in and see about getting an application. Little did we know that this "cute little bookstore" was actually a church of Scientology! She unknowingly went in to ask about job openings there and talked to some people there. Within very few minutes of her being in there they had whipped out a 2 year contract for her to sign!
She barely escaped that one! HAHA.
