All Good Things...

Warning: Picture-heavy post!
I'm trying to just do this all in one post so that we can move on to other
events like conferencebaby showers, and such!
Bewaaaare :)))

Dinner with Elder and Sis. Wakefield. I love my grandparents!

La Estrella de Puebla! The wind was pretty awful! It was Beth's first time to ride it, so she was pretty jumpy. :)) At one point both her and Austin were ready to have a heartattack, holdin' on for dear life!

Then one night we went to Juanita's for molotes... Sooo good!!

Riding over in this was fun... (For the girls at least! LOL Not so much for Marv and Dad.)

Juanita (left) does not like to have her picture taken. She says she does not want to be "famous on the internet" :)) She always glares at us suspiciously when she catches us taking pictures..... Hahaha

Fun with guns :))

 Marvin and Abner
Saludos primo!! :)

These two went crazy buying fireworks at this stand! So fun! >>

<< The mother of all fireworks-- The original "Sonrisa del Diablo"
(The Devil's Smile)
This thing weighed a ton. The guy wouldn't even sell it to us on account of it being powerful-- it shatters windows of houses and cars... Basically a bomb. :D We love bombs. LOL.

How many people does it take to light a firework......LOL

On the 15th we went downtown to hear "El Grito" --Literally transalated as "The Yell"... And that's basically what happens! A bunch of patriotic things, yelled. Very fun and massive crowds of people.
For all our veteran blog readers, you might remember when we almost died from being trampled one year at this event! :))

The governor's mansion was beautiful!                                                              Beth and I

Breakfast at Los Bisquets Bisquets with the grandparents and the Voans!
Elder Sis. Wakefield and Sis. Voan - Precious ladies

Bro. Voan is always so entertaining with all his jokes and stories :))

Cholula!
Beautiful, beautiful Cholula.

The cathedral on top was all decorated!

Monster Cebu!

A ton has been happening so check back soon for more updates on the Wakefield families and Mexico!

Outreach and Kid's Church!

Sunday morning we went out for outreach. We go around the colonia with a speaker either on the top of the car or, this time, inside this this little tricycle. We play music and a little announcement about the kid's service and give out candy and fliers.
We are becoming well known and popular with the kids in the colonia. :))
I love to see the little kids popping out of doorways when they hear us getting closer and closer!

Cuties

These kids were so excited to see the puppets!
^All the kids and people in the background waiting in the doorways for us! Love it!^

They love the lion and love putting their hands in his mouth.
When he bites them they scream and laugh and run away! So cute :))

We caught some kids singing along with the recording we play on the streets! Precious.

These boys are always here at the gate staring out of their gate holding onto the bars like they're in some kind of prison. For some reason it makes me think of Hansel and Gretel. :))
We make sure they get their candy too. :)

 Kid's church!
We had a good mix of first time visitors and others that have been coming since the beginning of the program. We had about 23 in total. (Some came in late and others were too shy to sit in the front).

 Israel and Paola.
My heart goes out to this little girl. I met her Sunday morning on outreach.
She was all smiles, so happy as I told her about kid's church!

Pastor leading the kid's songs.

The kids split up into 2 teams and had a relay race.

 Marvin taught the lesson.
He kept them laughing and entertained.

Ailyn. She is the cutest little girl!

We've been trying to get these two girls to come for a while now, so we were so happy to see them!
Before yesterday they passed by the church several times just asking for candy and wanting to know when the kids program would be.
^Jaquelin and Guadalupe^

Marvin and Paola diggin' in the dirt looking for the next object of the lesson

Conference is this weekend and we'll be doing a special kid's service on Sunday... We're hoping to have even more kids and parents so pray with us for that!

Good Church, Fun School, and a Ruined Night

Sunday church!

The new kids church program that we are doing is going good. Every Sunday we start out with kid's church with puppets and music and games. We started out with a few new kids and each service we are slowly growing in numbers. A few of the parents and kids stay for the second song service and preaching. (Which is the point!) So exciting.

This lady and her friend (the man to the side not quite in the pic) came for the second Sunday in a row. We are so excited to see what is in store for them!

Monday school!

Breaktime with the boys...
Tug of war!
Arturo, Alejandro, Bryan, Fabian, and Eddy vs.......

...Marvin and Nan! :)) Not quite an even game!
^Marvin made break so fun on Monday for the boys that now during break they call to him, "Maestro, maestro, ven a jugar con nosotros!!" (Teacher, teacher, come play with us!) So, so precious.

 Jump rope
What you can't quite see on first glance is that Sis. Mom is jumping behind Dad!

I thought I was exempt from jumping rope because I was wearing high heels.... But after some very strong persuading I was forced to make a quick shoe change into a pair of shoes twice my size :))
It was like trying to jump rope in a pair of clown shoes!

Look at this show-off jumping rope with push-ups! :))

The Ruined Night.....

Everything was fun and games until Monday night.
Adventures. Tragedy. :))
We hadn't been out of the house/colonia yet, so that evening, after prayer meeting, we decided that we wanted to go out for hamburgers from the best burger stand in Puebla, Alex Burguer!
It was raining pretty strongly as we headed out.

Then the fun began. We were driving along when all of the sudden we notice all the cars slowly merging into the right hand lane. We looked ahead to see that road ahead dipped down into just a huge lake of water. The driver... Whose name starts with a C..... LOL. Decided that we could handle this "puddle" that every other car was avoiding like the plague! As soon as the front wheels touched the water, I remember thinking "We have made a huge mistake." But then, the car kept chugging along! And just as we were about to pull out of the lake, the car *dies*.

Long story short the guys had to get out into knee deep water, in the rain, and push the car off to the side of the road.

Trying to jumpstart the van :( Still raining.
Poor guys :))

The grua (tow truck) truck hood couldn't stay up by itself. Marvin got the important job of holding it up :))
This tow truck guy finally left for a previous call, after not being able to start the car.

After about a total of 2 hours in the car calling around trying to get a tow truck, we finally got one and they pulled us up onto it, family and all :) This has to have been one of the most exciting, and scary rides I have ever been on. I think the same goes for the others in the car. No control, just grabbing onto the armrests and praying. LOL. All I could do was see visions of the van tipping off of the top of the grua.
Now the car is in the shop, with the diagnosis of a frozen motor. So sad. No car until Saturday.

Next day was just as dreary and rainy! Didn't quite stop the whole day.
But when it was time for P.E. we headed out!

The boys fell in love with Marvin from day one... They are going to miss him when he leaves!

Exercises before soccer!
^Push ups and jumping jacks were hilarious to watch... They really don't know how to do them :))^

Late night ice cream run on Wednesday :)

I'll be back in a few days with more... :)

Keep Mexico in your prayers!
