Classic Car Show

Saturday we went to the coolest car show I've ever been to...the only one I've ever been to, actually. 

They had over 200 classic cars ranging from 1930-1970. It was so interesting!! I have never seen such cute cars in my life. We had a really good time. It was really surprising when we got to one of the first cars. I was joking about getting in it and tried the door....and it was unlocked! So Abner and I got in to get our picture taken. I felt so nervous, like I was doing something really really bad. Haha!

Going down the rows of cars, we soon found out almost all of the cars were unlocked! :)

Okaaaay now that I have that out of the way I will mooove on! :))

Well I got Bethany's "hint hint" about posting!  So surprise! Here I am, ready to spill all!

Here's to make a long story short: We left Puebla around 1am, hopped on a bus to Mexico City, got to the airport, checked in and then a couple of hours later, we were on a plane headed for the good ol' USA! 6 hours later, we landed in Sacramento, Ca. Lovely, lovely. 
And what have I been doing since then?

Well, I went to the doctor! And had to have my blood taken :(
I love my blood. And honestly I thought I was going to cry like a baby when they took it--

^^that actually is ME right after I was born hahahaha^^

But I put on my brave face and sat down in the torture chair :))

Wow, that lady was amazing! She popped that needle into my arm so quick, I didn't feel a thing! I just stared as my blood filled the little tube and vial thing... And got a little light headed thinking, "Uhh, don't I need that??" Hahaha.

We then stopped by the raved-about "Jimboy's Tacos"...
Let me tell you, I could rave for quite a while about these tacos.
But I will refrain.

Those are just a few things that we have done in the past few days. We really have been enjoying ourselves despite the true reason that we are here. It has been wonderful to visit with old friends and enjoy all the things that the U.S.A. offers. :)

I love my mom.
She's taking good care of me while we're here :)

Wakefield Pet Repertoire

When we were younger, we were craaaaaazy about animals. (We still are, but some of us are a bit pickier now--ha!) Any stray dog that lived around the house, church, or tent...it soon had a name and knew where to come for attention and maybe a little food. Through the years we have had dogs, dogs, and more dogs, cats, rabbits, lizards, birds, a chicken, a turtle....the list goes on and on. 

In the space of about 3 years, we went through three dachshunds (that's the technical word for a weiner dog-lol). Our first one ran away, our second one died of Parvo two days after we got her. The last one got ran over. 

Do not be dismayed though! We had great luck with the strays! Not very often did they die or get ran over... :))

Out of all the dogs we "claimed" when we were kids, two of them will always stand out as our "favorites".

And Cocoa!

These two were the most loyal and the ones we have the most stories on. When we were having church in the tent, they would run behind our car all the way there. When we would arrive, Cobu knew not to come in, but Cocoa just didn't get it. One time, Cocoa came in and rolled over on her back refusing to get out. Cobu then came in, grabbed her by her back leg and began to pull her out of the tent. He knew she was about to get it if she didn't leave! 

Cocoa also gave us quite an education in puppy births... :))

It was pretty gross, actually.

I'm noticing a pattern....Maybe Grampa would like one of these for Christmas. Heh heh. 

Dress up!

If I remember correctly, our rabbits began to multiply in the way rabbits are known for. And that put an end to our collection of rabbits. Soon we got down to just "rabbit". One big, fat, gray rabbit with 2-inch toenails that would one day eat our turtle. Oh, those were the days...

We are still waiting on the promised burro. :)

Coca~Cola Parade

Saturday night we went to a parade put on by Coca-Cola. We had a blast and for once, I took a ton of pictures!! (Since Nicole isn't here to do it instead :) 

Well...my best intentions were shattered by the "power drain" we had last night. My camera chip was plugged into the computer, which was on and apparently they got erased. (This is my guess, at least!) 

Fortunately, I did take a few pictures on my phone, and though they aren't the best quality...here they are!

Each float passed by with its own pumping Christmas music. Some were blowing confetti and foam up into the air to look like snow. It was so pretty!

I think they got their stories mixed up here because it looked like the wicked witch from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was in Santa's sleigh!

And one last picture I found on my phone...

Austin and I were playing church with the cat the other night. He already had his pajamas on, but clipped a tie onto the front of his shirt. That made me laugh! Aww :) I miss my little buddy!

Maybe in the next few days Nicole could post and tell us about what she's been up to the past few days! Hint, hint! :P

Thanksgiving

I'm a little behind, but here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving! We had such a good time and were so happy to be able to get together with our family!

I had to act out "calf meat"...so I shook mom's hand, and she guessed "Nice to meet you." Third word. Ok, meat! Then I point to my calf and her face goes blank. "......I forgot the word!!!!" Aaaauugh!!

So here we are reviewing names of body parts for future reference. Haha!

The night ended with a goooooooooood ole game of clue! My favorite board game!!

In recent news...My mom, Nicole, and Austin flew out yesterday to California. Nicole has had some health problems for the past couple of months so we decided it was necessary for her to go and get checked out.  In Dad's words, "We love her so we want to take care of her!" So if you think about it, say a prayer for Nicole! 

They will be gone throughout the month of December, which means it will be just Dad and I this month...maybe longer, depending. So far we are having a pretty good time though. The house is so peaceful and quiet. Beau is getting spoiled to death and I have basically rearranged the house to how I like it. Nicole and Austin's rooms are now mine to do with as I please! (Nicole's began with a thorough cleaning--haha!) I could do a whole post on just the things I found under her bed :D LOL! 

Of course, this is just the upside of it all. We miss Mom. We miss Austin's constant chatter and singing. I miss Nicole's warmth. (Literally---she is like a walking fireplace and I'm like a walking ice cube. We make a good team :) 

It's gotten really cold these past few days so we have been using our wood stove quite a bit. Christmas music has been playing and the house is decorated with lights and that green stuff (what's it called). Aaaaand...right when I typed that, I heard some lights fall. Uh-oh. :-/

Aaaanyways! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, spent with friends, family, and of course...good food!
