Outreach

It's a beautiful day today in Mexico! 75 degrees outside, perfectly sunny, with a perfect little breeze.
A group of us went on outreach this morning. Here are a few pictures :)

Judah and Nicole

This lady lives across the street from the church. You know those jokes about "yo mama's teeth are so crooked..."? So crooked that when she smiles it looks like her tongue is in jail...etc...
Well this lady's teeth are like that.
She told us she couldn't come to our church because she is Catholic and if a Catholic goes to a non-Catholic church, they will turn into a crazy person. :D Hopefully we convinced her that isn't true. She said she'll try to come tomorrow.

Inviting kids to Sunday school....

There was a game of soccer out in the middle of this field. There were a ton of young people so we got out there and started inviting them to church. It's nice to be able to point down the street and say, "that's my church." Walking distance. No excuses.

We came to this house where in the window of the door were a bunch of Catholic signs.
One said, "This is a Catholic home. We do not accept Protestant (or other religious) propaganda. Long live the virgin Mary, mother of Christ!" We stuck our flyer up with the rest of theirs. :-)

When we finally made it back to our street, Judah saw the church and started shouting, "Papa! Papa!"
When he saw "Papa" he ran up to him and gave him a big hug.

Goodies de la U.S.

La Mamรก got home last night!! And she brought American "delicacies".
I think I am experiencing what is known as a "sugar headache" :D
Eating a lot of sugar makes me want to use big words and I mix my metaphors.

Nicole and I and our mouth-watering Sour Patches!!!

A substitute of my favorite thing on planet Earth:
Caramel apples=Caramel Apple suckers

She also brought back the Green Ring Conspiracy.......We're listening to it right now.
I've been on an Odyssey strike for the past few months because I extremely dislike the new Whit. But now, if you pretend people are saying "Pit" instead of "Whit", it makes things better. I was going to say, if you want to know what happens in the end, email me and I'd be happy to spill the beans.....but I just realized I have no clue what is going on.
There are about 19 million characters and I can't figure out who is who and what the carnival has anything to do with anything.
Nicole is sitting on my bed screaming in my ear about how she is "so worried about these people that don't even exist".

Active dry yeast for making bread....

Fudge!

Nicole thinks that Monty and Connie are going to get together in the end.
HOW is that EVEN possible?? When I was 8, Connie was 16 and Monty was about 10. But now I'm 20 and all of a sudden, they are both the same age? Wrong, wrong, wrong!
I do think it's possible that Wooten and Penny get together, since they are both very odd.
If you're listening to this online....I'm sorry.
You'll have to wait till the weekend to hear more. However, I am perfectly willing to spoil the ending for you. Just email me. I'm just doing what I would want someone to do for ME!
My life temptation is to look in the back of the book to find out who is guilty.
I LOVE surprises, I just hate knowing about them ahead of time.
I don't know if I could ever be surprised.  (In real life, I mean).

HOWEVER...I just found out who "the Stiletto" is. WOW. I am definitely extremely flabbergasted!!

I would like to give a shout-out to Chris, the announcer on Odyssey:
"You're dumb"
Hahahah. Well, she is!

And one last funny picture for your enjoyment...

Paul was talking about the hair on your head being a covering. Not the hair on your face.
If the hair on your face is long enough to cover your head....
Something is probably wrong.

*If you are not an Odyssey fan you should either become one, or disregard this entire post.
(Minus the facial hair part. You should probably take that part to heart).
The End.

Teacher Love

Austin is the most frustrating student. Ever. I mean not like I've taught a million... But believe me... It's pretty bad.
He frustrates his teacher, and he also gets frustrated himself. Yesterday he demonstrated the scope of his frustrated-ness.
I had left him alone to finish a page in his school book, and this is what I found upon my return. I think it is very self-explanatory :))
When I saw it I broke down laughing...
As you can see from his drawing, that is him with a sword. The person tied down to the table, my dear readers, is me. Nicole, his loving sister. And yes, that is a vat of boiling oil that is being poured on helpless me. Oh and yeah, don't you love how he has his foot ready to kick me in the head? HAHA.
He loves me really he does... I think... :))
Okay I just asked him if he loves me. His answer: "Most of the time... Not a few minutes ago, but most of the time." Hahaha :)

Well guys that's all! I'm off to work with Austin in his math!

Do They Know What They're Saying?

I wonder what that first one one tastes like...
We saw this the other day at a coffee shop nearby. :p

El Pastor Hijacked Choir So I'm Home Alone

Sometimes I get this terrible craving for carrots. It's all I want--the thought of anything else makes me ill.
Today was one of those days. Carrots and Ranch dressing:
So today when I went grocery shopping, I got some carrots. The only thing is, they don't sell Ranch here.
Or so I though. Heh heh :D
Then I was looking for BBQ sauce and WOAH...lo and behold...I found Ranch dressing!!
It was like...a miracle from heaven! And my birthday isn't even for 6 more months :p
So as I write this, I'm eating baby carrots and Ranch.
If you've ever fasted or been deprived of a food you really like for a long period of time, you know what it's like. This is the best food I've ever tasted in my life.

While I was walking through Wal-Mart, totally in my own world, suddenly my ears perked up...
EEEEEENGLISH!!!! Someone was speaking English! (And I wasn't talking to myself).
It was a lady from California with seven beautiful kids. All speaking MY language.

In other news...
El Pastor is picking up La Pastora from the airport on Monday. They're staying over until Tuesday so we'll be home alone for a couple of days. I kept that in mind today while at Wal-Mart...
I bought some chorizo. I'm sure they have the red stuff in parts of the USA, but I've only seen the green stuff here.
One time Nicole was cooking some of this and Austin walked by and ate an uncooked chunk of it.
Of course Nicole and I flipped out, but he was fine.
Anyways...we'll be having interesting dinners this next week.

I've been thinking lately...
It's Puebla's turn for an earthquake. And I can't say I'm dreading it. Of course I hope no one gets hurt...
Just saying that makes me sound like I need to get a life.

Speaking of excitement....
We went through an awesome revival the first half of 2010. Twenty eight people were filled with the Holy Ghost in a six-month period. It was absolutely amazing.
Now we are in a discipleship stage. It's been a few months since I've seen anyone get the Holy Ghost.
I liked the revival stage better :P

I'm going crazy with how mundane it's been around here this past month.
(Besides the pig fat experience, ok?!)
But we're working on a few new ideas...I'm ready to get out, do outreach and get some new people to church. We're also planning a revival for next month. I am soooo ready for something different!
I'm craving a powerful move of God even worse that I was craving these carrots. :))
Seeing someone receive the Holy Ghost gives the ultimate satisfaction.

But I Didn't Eat Pizza

A few nights ago, I had a dream. I didn't think anything about it until the next day. And now it keeps bugging me.
I was on a bike riding down a never-ending freeway, and there was nothing around me for miles. It was a super nice road, had lines, was paved, etc. (I must NOT have been in Mexico...)
There was a bridge up ahead and past the bridge, far far away were the lights of a city. I was racing down this road going so extremely fast that I couldn't even move my fingers to press the brakes for fear of losing control.
I was aiming to cross the bridge, but all of a sudden a dead end appeared in front of me. There was a rest stop and an old man standing there. I remember being scared I wouldn't be able to slow down enough to turn around. But I did, and right when I did, I woke up.

The only interpretation I could come up with:

I'm headed nowhere fast.

At least that is what I would tell someone if they told me what I just told you.
That, or they ate too much pizza the night before.
(See title).
