Church Services

Here are some pictures of church services we've had the past few months...
We had a family from Kansas bring their family from Guanajuato to the church here in Puebla. They had two of the cutest little boys. Here is the little one praying for his mom. So adorable!

These two little girls came up front during offering and just stood there holding hands. I was cracking up!

He is learning English from Nicole and I...Anytime he sees something touching, neat, or beautiful...his response is always "Ay!! So cute!!"

Racing down the highway with the wind blowing us to smithereens...it feels kind of exhilarating.

Jammin'

The other night we had a couple families from church over for dinner. We had a good time visiting and laughing like usual! After a while, we pulled out the instruments and had a little jam sesison in the living room.

Sis. Wakefield knows how to play the accordion really well! She was showing me the other day how to work it all, and it is pretty fun, but takes a lot of coordination. Play on one side, press buttons on the other side, all while pulling the accordion open and shut.

Dancing and playing

We should totally take this show on the road...lol!

Open-Air Service

On Sunday Los Apostolicos de Puebla went to the colonia we've been working and doing outreach in and held and outdoor church service. Sis. Wakefield and I had met a really nice couple a few weeks before and they agreed to let us hook up to their electricity.

More Outreach

Here are some more pictures from our outreach adventures!
We are still working in the same area and have many many Bible studies going on in homes there!

The other part of our outreach group...
This past Saturday were knocking on doors to invite everyone to the "Concierto Apostolico" that would be going on the next day. Basically an outdoors church service! I will post pictures later on of that service!

Special Service at the Loa's in Toluca

On Thursday we drove over to Toluca, Mexico to go to a special service at the Loa's church. It felt so good to get out and do something different. I was getting cabin fever!! :)

When we arrived in Toluca, we stopped for lunch at one of the brothers from Toluca's taco restaurant. Behind the counter, they had this huuuuuuge vat of oil that they cook the meat in. It was enormous, but it looks quite small in the picture.

We arrived at the church in time for the first session, which was only for ministers. Us girls planned to sit out in the car until it was over, but then we saw Sis Loa in the car in front of us. So she came and got in our car to visit and I jumped out and got in the Loa's car to visit with Dacia. We talked and talked and before we knew it, our hour was up and it was time for the main service!

Bro. Loa played the guitar for most of the service and I'm telling you guys...It sounded so cool!
I was very impressed.
One thing is for SURE...the people in Toluca know how to worship!! There was such a powerful move of God through out the song service...everyone was just worshiping God with all of their hearts.

Bro Keith Nix sang a song called "Through the Fire" by the Crabb Family, but in Spanish. I was very surprised when he started singing, as I had never heard it in Spanish. It was wonderful and so anointed!

In the middle of Bro Nix's preaching, this man ran up to the altar with his hands raised, seeking the Holy Ghost. From there, the service just exploded and more people came running up to the altar.

I must have grown (or got a higher hair-do haha!) because last year, I think I only came up to his shoulder. :P

(I stole this picture off of her blog!)
I had such a good time just talking and visiting (in ENGLISH!) with Dacia!

After church we went back to the taco restaurant. Some men from the church there started serenading us with hymns...they actually had really good voices!

Ten

Today is Austin's birthday, and oh my goodness...He is turning 10!!
I remember when he was born. I was 11 and Nicole was about to turn 9. I remember having a conversation that went a little like this:
Nicole: Woooaaaaaaaaaah! When he turns one, I'll be turning TEN!!
Bethany: And I'll be 12!
Nicole: Yeah, but when he is five, we'll be 16 and 14!
Bethany: And when he turns TEN, you'll be 18 and I'll be 21!!!!
WOAH!! UNTHINKABLE!!
Well. It's here. It's crazy how time has flown. Already our little buddy is hitting double digits!
He said yesterday, "I'm almost a teenager!!!" He is ecstatic.

Happy birthday, Austin! I love and miss you so so SO much!
