Traveling & Church with the Hearns!

Alrighty!
Hi everyone! It's Nicole here to give you a quick (or maybe not so quick haha) update! First of all, let me let you all know that I know that I'm horrible at keeping up with this thing... so get over it. And I will too. We can all do this together! (Bethany) LOL :))
Hahaha love you Bethy.

Okay. So this past Saturday my dad and I started our trip up to the Oregon/Washington area. Just me and him! Sis. Mom and Bro. Austino had to stay with her parents to get some doctors appointments set up and done with.

The trip up to Oregon was pretty long... 8 hours! I was having a lot of fun, talking and controlling the radio, switching every few minutes from radio classics, to gospel/choir, then to the contemporary christian station, etc... And then in 5 minutes repeat that process. :D
LOL. I was having fun..... But turns out my traveling companion wasn't enjoying all this activity as much as I was! Several hours into the trip I made some comment like, "Isn't it good that I came along with you on this trip?? Just imagine! You would have been all by yourself on the road for 8 whole hours!" And his response? " Well my radio preferences would be different for sure!"
.
..
...
haha :))

My nicer companion.
HAHA just kidding :) My dad actually is the funnest person to travel with. I'm having a blast. :)

Rattlesnake Mountain... the old Wakefield family legend is that one of our ancestors buried treasure on this mountain! Pretty neat huh? ...It'd be neater though if we actually found it! Hahaha.

On the road...

Late in the evening we stopped at a gas station. My dad stepped into the restroom and I headed for the coffee machine. I grab my cup and look at the selections of coffee. There were like 6 options- Caramel Machiatto, Vanilla Cappuccino, Cinnamon something, etc... Well this one caught my attention!
"Hi-Rev Mocha Cappucino"
"NO WIMPS ALLOWED"
Well. That really grabbed me! Because I do not consider myself a wimp at all! Especially when it comes to coffee! :)) Haha!
Soo.... Which coffee did I pick? The "No wimps allowed" coffee!
I took it as a personal challenge to my 'non-wimpy-ness' LOL.

And my reward for my bravery?
Well... I press the button that dispenses the coffee into your cup... and I wasn't paying much attention to how fast my cup was filling up, and I saw that it was about to overflow so I go to pull my cup away from the stream of coffee, and I succeed in dumping a waterfall of steaming hot coffee onto the back of my right hand. Go Nicole. I think this was all just a test to see if I really wasn't a wimp because while all this suffering was endured with a straight face, 2 gas station employees were watching it all transpire. LOL.
That was the most painful thing that I have felt in quite a while. My hand turned all red...
So I had to resort to holding my hand against the window for the rest of the trip, till it mercifully went numb from the cold. Hahaha :))

The view on our way to church Sunday morning! It was beautiful. Snow everywhere.
It was actually snowing when I took this picture but you can't tell.

Brittany Hearn did a beautiful job singing.

Preaching!

Lunch time at Red Lobster... we love their biscuits...
But we have not been eating any gluten...

So all I could do was stare... LOL :))

Altar call of the night service.

 Busted :)))
Love the look on her face! "...Hey!!!...."

This little girl is too cute not to post a pic ;)

Theeee Brittany Hearn! ;P So nice to finally meet her.

Visiting after church! These girls were sooo funny!

 :)

We had so much fun with the Hearns! Their church and church people are wonderful. The services were so so powerful. God moved in an awesome way.

Well, that's all for now people!
I'll try to keep ya'll updated in a more timely fashion in the future. ;P

Tootles!

Animals & Outreach

Today we went on outreach and it seems everywhere we went there were animals! My grandparents do not have any animals so I think I've been a bit deprived! :)) However, by faith, they will be getting a bird and a dog SOON! (Heehee:)

Sunday in Redding!

Hello everyone! :)
Well, this past Sunday we traveled up to Redding to be with our friends the Bobo's, at their church. We had a wonderful time with them and their church people.
The following day we drove all around Redding and Anderson, since my dad spent much of his childhood there, and visited a bunch of my dad's old haunts.
It was absolutely beautiful up there.

Here are a few pictures of our trip.

Austin has this funny thing going on with his eye where it constantly waters! So he devised this little invention with his glasses and my dad's hanky. He's silly. :)

Here is Bro. Bobo teaching the morning lesson.

Missionary Wakefield preaching! ;P

After the service we visited for quite a while! It was nice to meet so many people that in the past were pastored by my grandparents and that have known my dad since he was practically in diapers! Haha :)
We also got to meet a couple, Adam and Karissa King. And I have no idea how I did not end up with a picture of them! Anyways, they got the blog address, so if you all are reading this, it was nice meeting you two. :)

Altar call! We were all praying when my dad was asked to come pray for this elderly lady (below) that they said spoke only Spanish. I watched as my dad went over to pray with her, and what I saw was so cute! Haha. I could see that he was trying to pray with her and explain everything to her, but by the look on her face it didn't look like anything was sinking in, because she was just too excited to be hearing someone speaking Spanish to her! Her face just lit up as my dad talked to her... so precious :)

I don't remember all of their names! :(
But the ladies on either side of me barely spoke English and were so excited that I spoke Spanish! Hahaha :)
The lady in the red did most of the talking, and was asking me a million questions, and also gave me a bit of marriage advice. ;P
She was hilarious.
The two elderly ladies were visiting with the lady in the red shirt's daughter on the far right.

This man right here is deaf and mute. He wanted to talk to my dad though, so he used a pad of paper and wrote down everthing.
I can't imagine having to do this whenever I wanted to say something! I'm sure it takes patience :)

We then left to go eat! We visited for a long, long time with the Bobo's and had so much fun!
So much fun I guess, that I came away with no pictures! :(

The next morning we packed up and headed out!
Here's silly Austin again! He collected all the hotel notepads and pens in our room. Hahaha! When we were leaving, we walked through the lobby and there was a big basket full of little notepads with the hotel logo one them and Austin's eyes got HUGE! He thought he had hit the jackpot! LOL. We restrained him though.... :)))

We got in the car, ready for the loooong trip home. (2 hours haha)
Austin immediately started doodling... He decided to draw me!
(I'm thinking uh-oh haha)
He looks at me I smile for him, and he starts scribbling away...

Several minutes later, we have the finished product! Haha! The likeness is uncanny!

My dad went to an old orchard that he and his friends used to play in when they were little.
My mom and I stayed in the car, because right in front there was a "No Trespassing" sign! No way were we going to go and get thrown into jail! Haha.
The boys had no worries though, and went and had a little fun walking through the orchard while my dad told Austin stories of his childhood. :)

It was a beautiful trip, and we had so much fun!
Hope your guys' weekend was awesome as well!

God bless :)

Officially a Mexican Driver

Today I went and got my Mexican license! I was a little anxious because the test is all in Spanish and "technical", but I passed!

Taking the test on the computer

I look a little confused...

Holding the Fort Down

Happy New Year!! I can't believe it is already the start of a new year--2012!!
We have been so busy these past couple of weeks...lots of things going on! But I like to stay busy so it's all good. The latest news is that El Pastor has flown out to be with my mom, Nicole, and Austin in California. He will be there for a couple of months preaching around until one of Nicole's important doctor appointments in the end of February. In the meantime I am staying here with my grandparents in Mexico. I'll take a bus over on Sundays to do the music for my church, teach my class, and make sure our saints are behaving themselves.  ;)

Today we had an outing with the Bible quizzers from Los Apostolicos de Puebla. We went to a lake nearby...it was a bit gloomy outside and cooooold!

But it was still very beautiful!

We soon got the BBQ grill going and warmed ourselves up by the fire.

However...a park worker found us and told us we weren't allowed to do a fire right there so we had to move down the trail a bit. We were "polluting the air". I think we were just making him hungry with the smell of our steaks grilling!
