Update

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately...

Me, Rachel, Leea, and Nicole at Logan's Roadhouse

We stayed at Sis. Blatto's house Thursday night. She made fajitas and I'm telling you guys...American Mexican food is WAY better than actual real Mexican food! Of course, this is my opinion and does not reflect those of my family. But seriously, I've never had fajitas in Mexico. That is so American and Sis. Blatto's were the BEST I've ever had!

We went to Frazier Park on Saturday. We had a picnic and fed the ducks...

Me with the duck I "caught". Marvin said, "Five dollars to the first person that catches a duck!"
He didn't pay up, but I have to say...it is still a very satisfying feeling, doing something that the guys are too chicken to do.

Elias and his duck

Last night we had a bunch of the girls over for soup. The weather has been so weird this past week! We walked out of the house Sunday morning and it was sprinkling. So dreary!
Anyways, the girls came over after church and we had taco soup and played the Wii. So funny!
Leea playing on my phone

Tonight was baseball/soccer/volleyball night here in Burbank so we went to the park for that. Afterwards, we all went to the church for late-night prayer. It was really good!

Disneyland and More Fun

Hi!! Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to these past few days. Ever since we got in Monday night, we have been going non-stop. Tuesday we went to Disneyland. We had such a good time!! It was just us 3 girls until the evening, then Sis. Clark came.
Aunt Debbie has said for a while now that she would never go on the Indiana Jones ride again so this is the one I wanted her to go on most! We just wanted to help her overcome her fears. :D

Eating dinner...

We got to see the fireworks show that night. It was so beautiful!! Apparently it was also pretty romantic because I got proposed to by Nicole. ;)

This was my favorite ride and I can't remember the name of it!! The Space something. Wow!! What a crazy roller coaster!

Me and Aunt Debbie

On Wednesday, we went on the tram to Hollywood with Eliana and Chloee. We had a lot of fun!

Elmo!!

Michael Jackson

We also went and got some of me and Nicole's favorite "food"--boba! Mmmmm...

Sheera giving Nicole some attention. Haha!

Thursday we went to Joe Peep's. The pizza was fabulous!! We had a fun with Marvin and writing on the walls.

Today we celebrated Chantelle White's graduation from college then went shopping around with Sis. Blatto here in Bakersfield.
PCC is on the 20th. We can't wait!

Surprise!!

We got into LAX tonight and I was texting everyone saying, "We're here! We're here!" Cassia texted me and asked if we'd gotten in ok and I wondered how she had known what number to text. (I wasn't paying attention and told her we were in the cat on the way home...lol).
We picked up some pizzas then headed home. When we pulled up, I was thinking, "where's Uncle Phil?" When we come, He always is waiting at the door with a biiiiiiig smile on his face. :D
Well Aunt Debbie and Nicole walk in and I'm all talking to Sheera and petting her. Totally not paying attention. Then I came inside and out jumps Cassia from the hallway!!!! We both screamed because when I screamed, I scared her. Haha! She thought I was mad because I yelled, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!!" I was SO shocked and happy!!

We had a crazy fun night, we laughed and talked until way too late. We had some "interesting" experiences with Aunt Debbie...Heh heh. We all love her, but...we fear her too. (Now that we have experienced her kind of "fun"). Aaaaah!!

I'll try to take more pictures tomorrow. We are going to downtown L.A. to see what interesting things we can find!

G'nite :-)

The Wheels on the Bus...

We are on the bus, on our way to Mexico City and the airport. And shock of all shocks...there is wifi on this bus!! And plug ins! I'm amazed. :D So here I am blogging.
Here's El Pastor

Nicole and I...
Yesterday before church I started feeling sick and this morning I woke up with the worst sore throat. Why today of all days?? It's the pits!! But maybe that magical pollution-filled air in L.A. will be the cure for me today. :-) Plus, I'm stocked up on cough drops and 7-Up so I'm doing pretty for now. :D

A few more hours and we will be in the good ole USA!

Mexico Day at Pacific Coast Camp

We've decided to have a Mexican Day at PCC this year! I just got my outfit this week and I'm can't wait to wear it! It's a completely traditional Mexican outfit. I want to post a picture, but I can't. It has to be a surprise!
If anyone would like to participate, it is going to be a lot of fun! Just wear something red, white or green.

We are going to be doing this for the Wednesday NIGHT service. Bring your sombreros, mariachi suits, and tacos! Haha :D Of course, don't do anything too crazy to where it gets out of hand. Be modest. Use your brains! Follow the dress code rules, obviously...
...And have FUN!

**Leave a comment and/or vote on the sidebar if you plan on participating!

Mistreating the Chef

"Thank you, Jesus for this food. Help it to be good, and not yucky like it looks."

I made Beef Stroganoff last week and the above was Austin's prayer when we sat down to eat. What a brat! Haha :) He ate it though, and apparently God answered his prayer because he informed me that I am a better cook than the girl that cooks for us on church nights.

Here is Nicole, teaching Judah to do the "L" sign at me.

Wheeeee! We are leaving on Monday and I'm not bringing my laptop, therefore I just downloaded this blogging app so I can still blog while in the U.S.
Alrighty. I'm outta here.

Aye Aye Aye

Aww, this poor blog needs some attention.

The thing is, we haven't done anything too earth-shattering in these past few days. I've been getting things done, getting ready to leave for L.A. on Monday. I've been cleaning like crazy because there is nothing better than coming home after being gone for months to a clean, shiny, fresh room! Can I get a witness!!
Today I packed my iPhone full of music and stories. I'm more of a stories kind of girl, and I couldn't pick which ones I wanted. I kept getting the "you've over-stuffed your iPhone" message. I was listening to Glenn Beck's Moron Trivia earlier. Soooo funny!! Unfortunately, it did not make the cut. Finally I whittled it down to only my favorite songs/artists and my top 3 favorite stories. Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and Ben-Hur!!
And of course Adventures in Odyssey.
God forbid I would get bored on the flight, no?

We had to pick up some more junk food for the youth food table.
This was our last time downtown until we get back in July.
Me, at the candy store with my little cart...

Nicole and Javier were fighting over who was going to pay the bus fare when suddenly I heard the sound of a mighty rushing wind and a CRACK!! I want to say they "bonked" heads, but it wasn't really a "bonk". It was more like they SLAMMED heads.
So they both are walking around in circles, halos of stars above their heads, when I see someone waving across the street...
I look over and these two big, burly guys are waving me over and making the "beer" hand signal.
They looked like they worked in a nightclub. Honestly, they gave me the creeps, and I don't scare easily.
So I shouted over, "Sorry! I don't drink..."
Haha...no really I said to Javier, "Umm, I think we have a problem."
However, him and Nicole were still in their own little worlds from their Big Bonk.
We had been standing on this corner for about 40 minutes waiting for the "right bus".
The "right bus" to Javier means the one that drops us off closest to the house.
Nicole and I on the other hand, do not mind walking, but he was the one carrying the loot so we figured we'd oblige him. I'm learning more and more...my way is the best way. Haha. Just get on the stinkin' bus and get going!
Trying to look pleasant and normal, I told Javier and Nicole that there were some weirdos across the street. Of course they both whip around to see for themselves. *Slap my forehead*
Ugh...anyways, we got home safe and unharmed.
We actually have not told Dad this little story, but 3 days have passed and this seems to be the right time and place for confessions. :D

Ok seriously. It does sound a little funny, but it wasn't funny at the time. I want to thank God for his protection. There are plenty of things that could have happened, but we got out of there quickly and are fine.

Does anyone like the new header? It's of our volcano, Popocatepetl that is about 50 miles away. Every time it errupts, we are out of town. Bummer, right? It usually is smoking and covered in snow. Beautiful!
My Gramma sat next to a volcano scientist on a flight once, and he told her that if ever this volcano stops smoking for 2 weeks straight, we'd better hit the road because it is about to explode. Yikes!
So we love the sight of smoke!
Here is what he usually looks like:

This is Popo errupting in December of 2000

The legend is that long ago, Popo was a man who went to war. His bride, Iztaccíhuatl (another of Mexico's volcanoes), hears the rumor of his death and dies of a broken heart. Popo returns to find her dead and is grief stricken. He carries her into the mountains to mourn her death and then dies beside her. The gods were so moved by Popo and Itza's love for each other that they turned them into volcanoes, allowing them to be together forever. Now, when Popo throws out ash, he is just reminding us that he will never leave the side of his beloved Itza.
Isn't that so romantic?!
Makes me wish I were a volcano...
Heh heh.
